National Geographic Chamberlin Globe

The National Geographic Chamberlin illuminated globe is a floor globe where the internal lights (10 LED lights) are powered by 4 AA batteries which means there is no power cord!   Most illuminated globes have a power cord that must be plugged in which many customers do not like (looks cluttered) so this globe is perfect for them!   The light is activated by touching the globe ball and will automatically shut off after 5 minutes of no activity.

Another nice feature of the 16" diameter Chamberlin globe is the gyro stand.  This means you can easily turn the globe to where the South Pole is at the top which makes for easy viewing.

This world globe has a blue ocean globe and stands 37.5" tall and has a total width of 20".  It is also made in the USA!

Currently, the Chamberlin floor globe sells most places for around $313.00.

12/12/13 Update - Below is a video of this globe.
